Most of us know by now how to search for sex offenders in our neighborhoods. Our school in the town we live in, sends our the list of offenders in the area and updates are sent our as needed. This is a very good idea just in case someone does not access to the information. Also, to me, it says: As a community, we have our eye on you. I really think this is the reason that there are VERY few in this area. There are a few more in the surrounding counties.I would like to see more companies put out the faces of missing children. There are so many children missing that it is hard to remember all of their faces. The tiny little pics of children at the top of my circular isn't memorable to most people. What happened to the milk carton photos?? There is plenty of room on my cereal box, billboards etc.
Another question, why do we microchip our dogs and not our children?? I know this seems a bit extreme but so is circumcision!!! Some people are afraid of the "big brother" aspect. That, then we would be trackable. Perhaps, there is an option to have it removed when you are of age. The chips would have to be on a GPS system, unlike the pet chips which are registered chips that must be scanned. It is 2011, I think our technology field could find a better way to locate missing children. Not only we would be able to track them but the sicko as well. It would have to be left up to the parent of course, I think the parent and the doctor would be the only people to know the location of the chip on the child's body. This would help so that the kidnapper could not try to physically remove the chip in order not to be found.
